If you can come to Bryanston, you will take a ballet class and then be taught a contemporary combination, and present your own choreography. If you cannot attend a live audition, film a video audition. See “What to put in your video” below.
Share your video (video auditions)
Paste a link to your video (the easiest way), or upload a short .mp4 clip of up to 100 MB. Instructions for each are below.
Send your application
Fill in the form on this page. It takes about five minutes. You will see a confirmation with a reference number straight away, and we email you a copy.
Interview, audition and call back
We will contact you by phone for a verbal interview and to assign you an audition date. Live auditions are held at our Bryanston Met Studio, and more information follows once your interview and audition are scheduled. Await call back information by email within two weeks.
What to put in your video
For a video audition, please include a ballet centre adage and an original contemporary choreography of your own. If you are attending live you may still send a video, but you do not have to.
Tips for filming.
- Film in landscape, with your whole body in view from head to toe.
- Use a plain background and good light, and keep the camera still (a tripod or a steady surface works well).
- Wear fitted dancewear so your lines can be seen.
- Say your full name at the start, so we can match the video to your application.
- Choose music you are comfortable with and check that the sound is clear.
- Play the finished video through once before you send it.
How to share your video
A link is the simplest way and works for videos of any size. Make sure that anyone who has the link can watch it, then paste it into the form. You can remove the link after the audition process is over.
YouTube
- Upload your video.
- Under Visibility, choose Unlisted.
- Copy the link and paste it into the form.
Google Drive
- Upload your video, then right-click it and choose Share.
- Under General access, choose Anyone with the link (Viewer).

Vimeo, Dropbox or WeTransfer
- Upload your video.

- Copy the link and paste it into the form.
Prefer to upload a file? Use the upload box in the form for an .mp4 file (.mov also works) of up to 100 MB. For anything bigger, please use a link.
